HeadingTwo 2022 (A 2021 Recap)

With one day left in 2021, I thought it might be fitting to take a look back at HeadingTwo in 2021 and where we might end up in 2022. The Christmas break has provided some much-needed downtime for both of us, but let’s look at how we got here.

Looking Back

TJ and I have been friends for a loooong time. We’ve worked together at several different companies and have always wanted something we could create together to call our own. If you missed some of the articles where I talked about this in November, be sure to go back and read them!

HeadingTwo re-launched on November 1st with the hope of reviving a project we started almost 5 years ago! The timing seems better this time. Although TJ and I are no longer working within 10 feet of each other, our experiences over the last 2 years and our perspectives on agency life and design put us in a much better place to talk about these things.

Given that we reset in November, I’m quite happy with the content we’ve already begun to generate and am looking forward to how we use this as a ramp into 2022:

Looking Ahead

With a break, some burnout, and some illness behind us, TJ and I will be back at it – generating new podcast episodes and other content for HeadingTwo! We’ve got a dozen or so topics already lined up to talk and write about and we’ll certainly be adding to the YouTube channel with more how-tos, reviews, and… well… we’ll see what else we can get away with 😉

In addition, 2022 should trigger the return of in-person events (Covid permitting). I haven’t talked about it too much here yet, but much of my position at GoDaddy is centered around events, in-person and virtual. More content will be added here when events are happening as well.

Lastly, I’m going to set some goals here for us to reflect on at the end of 2022:

  • Record and publish at least 26 more podcast episodes
  • Add at least 6 articles per month to the blog
  • Add at least 1 non-podcast video to our YouTube channel per month
  • Become more active on the @headingtwo Twitter (intentionally vague)

I think that these are reasonable and, if we are consistent in doing them, will gain HeadingTwo some traction and bring in some new readers/listeners.

Thank you to anyone who’s read any of the articles or listened to any of our show episodes so far. We’ll be starting to get the word out a little bit more in 2022, so please share with your friends!

Happy New Year (almost) and I’m excited for the next one!

Today I was joined by Tabitha Turton from GoDaddy (and also formerly SkyVerge) to share a bit about the exclusive, native features that we've been able to add to GoDaddy's Managed WooCommerce hosting.
For this one, I wanted to simply share a few end-of-the-year tips for businesses running WooCommerce (or any e-commerce) stores. Hopefully, these five tips will help you start next year off fresh and ready to take on the world!
